Bidada International Foundation is most well-known for the medical camp it organizes every January at its hospital in the village of Bidada, located in Kutch, India.
At the January camp patients from over 1200 villages are seen. Over 30 different medical and surgical specialties are covered during the camp.
During the camp, over 25,000 patients from Kutch and surrounding areas are examined and treated by more than 300 volunteer doctors from India, the USA, the UK, and other countries. The patients receive free healthcare including diagnosis, treatment, medications, counseling, and preventive care education. In addition, all patients are provided meals and lodging. During January 2011 cardiac camp more than 400 patients were triaged and total of 62 patients including 20 children were referred to Maru Hospital, Mumbai for cardiac surgery.
